Hotel expansion with timber element construction

Time was of the essence: the hotel and restaurant could only be closed for a short space of time, so construction needed to be as quick as possible. Timber elements are the ideal solution for this kind of specification. We built the timber structure for the new Gibswilerstube hotel building in four months.

There new hotel has 16 rooms, a restaurant and spa area. The new structure, built by us, features a frame made from 135 m3 of spruce and fir wood. The entirely new floor area measures 800 m2 and is spread across three floors. The existing ground floor was retained but was given a new concrete ceiling and now serves as the foundation for the new building. What’s more, the new facade of plaster base panels with rear ventilation is finished in a sunny yellow, just like its predecessor.
