Architecture uses timber to connect the new to the old

The architectural concept is premised on the new house as a modern take on the original building. As GC, we took care of the entire process from tendering to engineering and from production to erection of the new building to replace the old house. 

Creating a structural connection between the new and existing buildings was no mean feat. As a result, a section of the new building had to be constructed in and under the existing barn. 

The new three-storey timber house has a floor space of just under 450 m2 and contains the kitchen, two bathrooms, four bedrooms, the garage, cellar, workroom, plant and store room as well as two loft spaces that can be converted at a later stage. The facade features cover strips and was crafted from untreated Douglas fir wood. 

The interior finishing includes exposed Lignatur ceilings, large windows and high ceilings to create a comfortable living environment.
